Our Courses

Course Description:

Growing up, we’re taught to “Obey Allah and obey the Messenger ﷺ” and reminded of the Prophet’s ﷺ unparalleled example. Yet, when faced with skepticism—in college, work, or society—questions can start to weigh on us: How do we really know the message of our Prophet ﷺ is from Allah? How can we be sure the stories in the Quran are more than myths, and that Prophethood remains relevant today?

In this course, we’ll explore the core proofs of Prophethood that affirm our belief, drawing from historical, rational, and spiritual perspectives. We’ll address common doubts, such as “How do you know Muhammad didn’t write the Quran?” and “I heard your Prophet said this…”

Join us to gain clarity and confidence in the timeless message and mission of the Prophets (peace be upon them).

He has translated dozens of books and research papers into English, has authored “The Final Prophet: Proof for the Prophethood of Muhammad,” and co-authored “When the Stars Prostrated: Meditations on Surat Yusuf” and “The Prophet of Mercy.”

Course Description:

In recent times, a wave of criticism has emerged surrounding certain hadiths deemed problematic due to claims that they are irrational, unscientific, impossible, or contradictory. However, we know that our Deen is complete and without contradiction, and so each hadith that appears challenging has a nuanced explanation grounded in scholarly literature.

This course offers key principles and frameworks for understanding such narrations, serving as a valuable resource for Muslims who may feel troubled by these hadiths. Participants will learn beginner-level practical tools for assessing the authenticity of hadiths and effective methods for approaching challenging narrations. We’ll explore resources, techniques, and actionable insights to help clarify misunderstandings and bring peace to the seeking heart.

Course Description:

Life can feel overwhelming in today's world. From personal struggles with self-worth and purpose to societal challenges of despair and disconnection, many of us are left asking: Is there hope after hardship? Does Allah ﷻ see and care for me in my darkest moments

Surah al-Duha speaks directly to these questions, offering a timeless message of resilience and renewal. Revealed to the Prophet ﷺ during a period of distress, it reassures us all that darkness is temporary, and divine mercy is ever near.

In this course, we’ll explore the historical context, themes, and linguistic beauty of Surah al-Duha. How do we overcome feelings of abandonment? How do we find gratitude in hard times? And how does this surah inspire us to move forward with faith when the path is unclear?

Course Description:

The history of Islam in America is deeply intertwined with the foundation of the country itself, particularly through its presence in early Black American communities. While the resilience of Islam among enslaved Africans and their descendants is often acknowledged, less attention is given to the profound influence Islamic thought has had in shaping concepts of personal reform and social development in the U.S.

This course will explore the enduring Islamic legacy first introduced by enslaved West Africans and its evolution within Black American communities. We will examine how Islam addressed not only pressing theological questions of resistance to oppression through faith but also pressing social challenges, such as the rise of urban poverty and systemic oppression. We will also explore Islam’s contributions—both direct and indirect—to the conceptualization of civil and human rights, with a focus on influential figures such as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (Malcolm X) and the transformative role Islam played in his life and activism.

The course will conclude by reflecting on the implications of this legacy for personal and social reform in the lives of Muslims today, encouraging participants to consider how these lessons can motivate contemporary efforts for social justice and personal development.

His research focuses on how culture and positive ethnic identity socialization may contribute to bolstering Positive Youth Development (PYD) in this population. After years of working to support juvenile lifers who had been serving life-without-parole sentences in prison, his research is also aimed at improving the outcomes of former system-involved youth.

Course Description:

Today’s world often demands quick answers and uniformity, leaving many Muslims confused or uneasy about differences in Islamic rulings. These differences are often a recurring source of sectarian conflict in our communities. Why do scholars disagree on issues like the details of prayer, zakat calculations, what invalidates fasting, or the permissibility of certain investments? If all rulings come from the Quran and Sunnah, why do scholars reach different conclusions on the same issue? Should we view these differences as a mercy or a misfortune? How can two authentic narrations from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appear to contradict one another? And when is it acceptable for Muslims to differ on religious matters?

These challenges are not new, nor are they merely academic. They touch the core of how we approach faith in a diverse and globalized world. In this course, we’ll explore the roots of these differences, tracing them back to the time of the Prophet ﷺ, his Companions, and the early Imams. Through real examples, we’ll uncover how apparent contradictions in hadiths were resolved and how nuanced methodologies in interpreting the Quran and Sunnah gave rise to the rich tradition of Islamic jurisprudence.
